Most users are willing to ignore the negative side effects of marijuana because they say they don’t feel anything at all. Some justify their use with the reason that they are in control or that it helps them relax. What they don’t know is it’s already harmful to the body no matter how you ingest it. Even if you’re not smoking it, mixing it with tea or baking it in food won’t make it “safe”.
One, you can become dependent on it. Even if you’re a “social” user, this recreational drug can induce cravings as bad as those associated with cigarette smoking. You might experience negative physical effects like nausea, shaking and breathing problems with regular use. Headaches and coordination problems with decreased appetite may also follow.
Next, you’ll have trouble with your perception – one of the main negative side effects of marijuana. Studies have proven that using pot decreases blood flow to the brain, making it all the more dangerous. You may experience anxiety, memory loss or at the extreme level, paranoia.
If anyone you know says otherwise, challenge them to go without it for a month and they’ll see what marijuana can really do.
